About My Clients
Life can bring with it many challenges. It is at those times that we find ourselves in need of guidance and support. I have helped people work through those tough times, getting them back on the right path and helping them take control of their lives. Though it may be a difficult step to take, entering therapy can have a lasting, positive effect on your life. Sometimes things creep up all of a sudden and other times it is an issue that you've been dealing with for a long time.
My Background and Approach
My approach is authentic and direct. I am skilled in assisting clients with finding their own path, pointing out repetitive patterns and behaviors that lead to continued dissatisfaction in their lives. I believe in a client-centered approach, tailoring my interventions to meet each client's unique needs and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. I would be honored to work with you and help you achieve your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Helping others has been a lifelong goal for me that started right out of high school. While attending Sonoma State to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I worked in mentoring and assisting families who were transitioning out of homelessness. There I gained firsthand experience of working with families with challenging dynamics and issues in mental illness, domestic violence, parenting and step-parenting, poverty, addiction, homelessness, and recovery. I graduated in 2007 and felt a calling to work with children, adolescents, and teens who have developmental delays, a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and individuals with adaptive functioning needs and behavioral challenges. To make a bigger impact, I earned my Master of Science with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University in 2011. After graduation, I continued to help children, adolescents, and teenagers in the Conejo Valley Unified School District as a mental health clinician.
