About My Clients
I believe that every child's behavior is communicating something. I specialize in supporting anxious and neurodivergent children, pre-teens, and teens who are often carrying far more than others realize. Many of the children I work with are thoughtful, highly sensitive, and trying incredibly hard to hold it all together. They may appear to be doing well at school while struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, or the exhaustion of masking.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist who believes therapy should be deeply individualized to each child or teen. My work is grounded primarily in a child-centered, non-directive approach, while incorporating psychoeducation, expressive arts, sandtray, and other directive interventions when they fit your child's needs. With older children and teens, sessions are often more conversation-based, while I continue to use expressive approaches and my Synergetic Play Therapy lens to notice what may be communicated through behavior, body language, and other non-verbal cues. I also prioritize parent collaboration and include a parent meeting after every session. My goal is to help children expand their window of tolerance so they feel more resilient, capable, and confident navigating challenges—and to help parents understand their child deeply enough that responding and supporting them begins to feel more intuitive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every child and teen deserves a space where they can show up as their authentic selves without feeling pressured to fit into a particular box. I’m neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed, and I strive to create a therapy environment where differences are understood, respected, and valued rather than treated as something that needs to be fixed. I especially value supporting LGBTQ+ children, teens, and families and have experience working with transgender youth and young people exploring questions of gender and identity. At the heart of my work is a belief that healing happens within relationship. I want my therapy space to feel safe, accepting, and genuine—a place where kids and teens can be fully themselves, whatever that means. Relationships are deeply important to me in my own life as well, and I value time with my loved ones, my pets, and the community around me.
