About My Clients
After our first session, my clients can expect to feel validated and supported. My clients are in control of their treatment, in that their desires and priorities are what inform and dictate my approach to our time together. My specialty or niche areas are adult ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD, and relationship issues.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in professional mental health counseling. I earned this degree through in-person studies at Webster University in St. Louis, MO. I would describe myself as nurturing, empathetic, and open-minded. I am a proud wife and mom and believe these roles enrich my knowledge and perspective as a counselor. I have over ten years of experience working in the field of mental health, with over six of those being specific to clinical counseling. I have worked in several types of settings and with clients experiencing a wide variety of difficulties. My approach to counseling is client-centered, in that I believe wholeheartedly in the power of offering my clients empathy, unconditional positive regard, and freedom from judgment. I believe in tailoring my approach to each individual, couple, or family with whom I work. I primarily utilize insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy treatment approaches.
