About My Clients
In working with me, we may look at your life through a systemic lens and become curious about how your external and internal landscapes are linked. You may be wanting space to explore how you currently show up in the world and how you -want- to show up in the world. Examining the stories we've internalized about ourselves, as well as the burdens we may carry from the past, can lead us to deeper insights about the authentic life we ultimately want to live.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, nonjudgmental, and authentic, and I've been described as a systems-thinker who often steps back to see the bigger picture. I value transparency and collaboration, often seeking your input on what is working well and what needs adjustment in our work together. I use modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Family Systems work, Expressive Therapies, psychodramatic and metaphorical techniques, as well as embodied and somatic methodologies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an anti-oppression trainer of the "Beyond Inclusion, Beyond Empowerment" model created by Leticia Nieto, PsyD and I focus on providing services through this social and racial justice lens. I believe finding our authentic core often means diving beyond how we’ve been told we “should be,” which is a message that may come from societal oppression, experiences of trauma, or from our childhoods. Living an authentic life where we feel able to be spontaneous and present in our relationships can be an essential life project for many of us. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and also live a creative public life as an author. I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult), providing services to the Deaf and HoH community.
