About My Clients
I treat individuals, couples and families with older teenagers/transitional age adults.
My Background and Approach
I believe in meeting people where they are at. Therapy is a collaboration, I am not an expert in your life, you are. I am here to partner with you, to assist you with your goals and help you get to where you want to be. I’ll be here with you when you need to cry, I’ll share in your joy and cheer you on, I’ll sit with you in your times of discomfort, and as always respect and honor your truth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong advocate for disability rights and children's mental health care. I am a full time caregiver to a family member who struggles with schizophrenia and I have become strongly aware of the lack of resources available for individuals who struggle with serious mental health challenges. Additionally, I advocate and support resources for single mothers in MA. I went to undergraduate school full time and worked in a warehouse while being a single mother. I remember the difficulty finding resources such as child care, affordable housing and food security. Professionals questioned if I should be in school because I had a child with special needs. Employers did not offer me equal pay compared to my male peers and I was often overlooked for positions. I want to make sure education is readily available to single mothers because it is statistically proven children of single mothers have overall better health outcomes when their mothers have access to higher education
