About My Clients
The therapeutic process begins with an open mind, a willing heart, and a trusting relationship with your therapist that is built on empowerment in an accepting environment. If you are looking to make changes in your life, manage anxiety or depression, improve your connections with others or help your child with challenging emotions or behaviors, then there is no better time than now to begin. I have a passion for working with ADHD, Autism Spectrum, trauma and I am also an LGBTQ+ ally.
My Background and Approach
I've been working in the field of mental health for over 20 years now, starting with work in the field of Autism and special needs and expanding from there. During graduate school I was certified as a sexual abuse counselor and later pursued training to become a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. I bring a strengths-based approach to my work with all clients, as I truly believe that individuals are the experts on themselves, they have a desire to heal and grow and they know how to do it. I am here to assist you in that journey and use an eclectic range of modalities to do so. As a play therapist, I bring playful techniques to all of my work, including Child Centered Play Therapy with young kids and expressive arts and sandtray therapies with teens and adults. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based practices, coping skills work and client centered approaches as well. We will work together to find the best approach for you to meet your goals!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everybody's individual journey is unique. It can be beautiful and it can also be rocky, hilly and winding. But it is through those experiences that people find their true selves and grow in becoming the person they want to be. I enjoy assisting people on their journey and would love to help you with this as well. I am an ally to the LGBTQ community and offer a supportive and accepting environment for therapeutic growth.
