About My Clients
No one gets through childhood unscathed. If you have experienced neglect, abuse, and the trauma of being raised by emotionally immature parents, you have found the right therapist. Depression, anxiety, difficulty sharing your feelings and needs, and dissociation are just some of the challenges you are likely facing. But there is hope. Trauma informed, integrative therapy offers the skills and reprocessing needed to put the trauma where it belongs - in the past.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to make my clients feel safe and optimistic about their journey in therapy. I have spent over a decade honing the techniques and approaches that help trauma survivors stabilize their emotional lives, address the core beliefs and nervous system responses that perpetuate their unwanted symptoms, and build healthy relationships. Together, we will identify exactly how you came to feel about yourself and respond to your environment in the ways you do. Systematically, we will address the shame and fear-based core beliefs, the memories that are unprocessed and stuck on loops, and the unhelpful survival patterns that leave you exhausted. My specializations in cutting edge trauma modalities, including EMDR, Hypnosis, and Internal Family Systems will provide you with the actual corrective experiences needed to reclaim your life from childhood trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Recovery from C-PTSD and childhood trauma is possible. I also know that it is not always an easy road. I appreciate the importance of having a skilled, compassionate, and understanding therapist walk this path with you. It is now my life's work to help others experience the freedom from trauma that I get to enjoy. I am passionate about creative and spiritual expression (I am a writer and have a large tarot/oracle card collection!) I have always been an active member of the LGBTQ+ community, supporting the work of queer liberation from marriage equality to eliminating HIV related stigma. As a person in an inter-racial, same sex relationship who is raising a disabled child, I am extremely aware of the role of systemic oppression on mental health. I believe in being transparent about who I am and what I believe, in order for clients to build a trusting and authentic connection. Please don't hesitate to reach out and ask any questions you have about me or the therapeutic process.
