About My Clients
Many people come to therapy because they’re doing their best to manage life, yet still feel stuck or unsure why things feel so hard. You might find yourself questioning whether you’re doing enough, or wondering why the strategies you’ve tried don’t seem to be helping. I work with parents who care deeply about their children and feel uncertain about how to support them best, adolescents who feel worn down by emotional, academic, or social pressures.
My Background and Approach
Before opening my own private practice, I worked as a school social worker in Waco ISD and Houston ISD, so I have extensive experience in decoding the underlying needs behind a child or teen's behavior. Whether their challenges are at home, school, or both, we will work together to support them in learning adaptive coping skills. For children, I use play-based approaches that allow kids to express what they don't yet have the words for, helping them process big feelings in their most natural language. The older your child is, the more I incorporate more skill-based therapy modalities, matching your child's development. For teens, I provide a balance of validation and practical tools to help them manage intense emotions and navigate the social pressures of today’s world. Most teens show up to therapy because a caring adult in their life recommended it, but my goal is to make sure they actually want to be here.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that healing doesn’t happen through clinical exercises alone—it happens through the power of a genuine, compassionate connection. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S), I specialize in helping children, teenagers, and their parents navigate the complexities of growing up. My approach is rooted in the belief that therapy is an emotionally corrective experience. By providing a safe, non-judgmental space, we can actually "rewire" the brain, replacing old, painful habits with new, healthier patterns of relating to ourselves and others. I am deeply trauma-informed, meaning I prioritize your emotional safety above all else. My goal is to empower you and your child by validating your unique experiences and strengths. In my office, you aren't just a "case"—you are a person worthy of a real relationship.
