About My Clients

If you found my profile, you may be grappling with issues in your relationship with food and with your body. You may be very good at putting on a brave face for others and find it hard to let others in. Maybe you’re faced with constant anxiety and pressure to be perfect. You might be looking to work through difficult past experiences or to explore parts of your identity. If any of these challenges resonate with your experience, we may be a great fit!

My Background and Approach

My experience as a therapist spans a broad array of settings and levels-of-care, including: inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and college counseling. My passion for treating eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma was born out of a deep appreciation of the power of the brain-body connection. I am committed to helping clients strengthen both physical well-being and mental well-being while working toward healing. My clients are some of the most compassionate, resilient, creative, clever, and strong individuals I have ever encountered. Many times my clients have developed ways to cope and protect themselves that no longer serve them. My approach involves addressing those ways of coping that are no longer beneficial by helping clients identify triggers, build a new repertoire of coping skills, learn to conceptualize issues differently, and explore how past experiences are linked to present concerns.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a firm believer that everyone can benefit from mental health care and advocate for reducing stigma around receiving mental health services. It is my wish that therapy were viewed both as a tool when we are struggling and as a preventative measure or simply to augment an already awesome life. I am also deeply passionate about working to dismantle fatphobia and changing the way that the medical community and society as a whole approach body shape, weight, and size. Additionally, I am LGBTQ+ affirming and am passionate about helping individuals explore identity. I welcome and strive to create a safe, empowering space for clients of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. I also enjoy helping clients heal from religious trauma and explore transitions in faith and spirituality.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
