About My Clients

I specialize in working with helpers and healers to navigate your personal and professional lives. You have crucial jobs that come with intense feelings of responsibility. Those around you have come to expect a presence of confidence, boldness, and excellence. You are seen as having it all together, all of the time. But, the reality is, you struggle to connect or find a moment of peace. Let's find relief from the overwhelming stress and bring balance back into your life.

My Background and Approach

I have facilitated individual sessions, couples/relationship sessions, group therapy, and support groups for over 8 years. As a mental health counselor, clinical supervisor, counselor educator, and doctoral candidate, I relate to the self-proclaimed “workaholics.” But, everyone seeks counseling for something different. I respect that we each have our own past and present experiences that shape who we are and how therapy will look. I hear you, and I can handle your shit. I am not one to sugar-coat and I will hold you accountable. I recognize that you have life commitments (such as being on-call) that may keep you from doing what others might expect of you. I work with your strengths and assets to enhance what is important to you. I rarely give homework to complete outside of our sessions, unless asked. The way I see it, you’re busy enough already.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Justice and Inclusion: As a white person with a higher education degree and access to capital, I recognize that there are obstacles I do not experience. I am committed to taking an active role in ending racism, gender discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, ableism, xenophobia, and all forms of marginalization and discrimination. Counseling and Advocacy: I volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and am an avid supporter of harm reduction. I am authentic in every interaction - from discussing fees and paperwork to explorations in session. I don’t believe in pushing bullshit that doesn’t work. I believe you deserve high-quality services (just like you would expect when paying for childcare, dental work, car maintenance, or pizza).
