About My Clients
This is a scary time with a lot of uncertainty, confusion, and stress. You're life may have ben turned upside down lately - your kids may be home from school, you may have recently lost your job, and you may be isolated from family members or friends - and you're trying to figure it all out. It may be hard for you to take care of yourself or process what is going on in your own life because you have little ones depending on you or you may be concerned about your elderly parents or grandparents.
My Background and Approach
Self-care has always been important and during this time of crisis, it is vital to your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. If you don’t take care of yourself, then who will? If you have people depending on you, then you have to take care of yourself so that you are able to take care of them. Self-care begins with self-reflection – how can you know how to take care of yourself if you don’t know what needs you have? I work to provide you with practical tools that you can use in every area of your life. Some of the approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT - changing negative beliefs to positive beliefs), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT – it’s what you tell yourself about a situation that is causing distress rather than the situation itself), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT – focusing on the solution rather than the problem), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR – used to treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and more).
