About My Clients
I love my clients! It is a privilege to hear your stories and help you live your preferred stories! I have special training working with severe and persistant mental health challenges as well as addictions. I have an interest in using writing, art, and movement to be out best selves. I have experience with, training in, and a passion for diversity of all kinds from various sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, ethnicities, and lifestyles.
My Background and Approach
I have a MA in sociology from UCSD and this education informs my focus on culture, inequality, discrimination, and prejudice. I have a MA in Clinical Counseling from the CA School of Professional Psychology and learned counseling theories and techniques this way. I have worked in almost every mental health capacity: group homes, substance use treatment, case management, residential treatment groups, crisis work, and employment counseling. You will be hard-pressed to shock me! And even if you did, I don't judge--what fun would that be?
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Outside of work, I spend as much time with various fur-friends as possible. I also love open space and nature--it's why I live in coastal Oregon!
