About My Clients
Are you anxious or nervous to the point that you don’t try new things? Anxiety can be overwhelming and debilitating and it’s hard for others to understand. I can help you gain skills to reduce anxiety symptoms. Are you feeling powerless over your situation or with controlling or toxic family members? I can help you feel more effective and learn to stand up for yourself. Are you feeling shame over past choices or abuse you suffered? Gain awareness of your beliefs and how this affects you.
My Background and Approach
I am a clinical social worker trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and I am person centered so I meet you where you are, we work together to help you feel more capable and improve belief in yourself. By improving awareness of your beliefs and your automatic thoughts, you learn to understand why you react the way you do and why you feel the way you do about yourself. I want you to feel capable and believe in your ability. We Often don’t learn to love ourselves as children so we struggle as adults to be kind to ourselves. Perfectionism is often an indication that you’re struggling with self compassion and may be a result of the parent-child relationship as you continue to prove your worth to yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand family systems from a clinical perspective and from personal experience. I can relate to personal struggles with family members and self worth as a function of creating a better life and self improvement. Do you have a family member who makes you question yourself? I understand how challenging it can be to maintain family relationships while trying to improve your situation. We all experience tough times and I feel honored to accompany my clients through some challenging periods.
