I have been a LMFT for over 25 years using family systems, psycho-dynamic, person-centered approach to meet clients where they are at.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California
Work with clients to help them to explore spiritual or religious trauma, impact of that abuse in their understanding, acceptance and loving of themselves & in their relationships to others; support their explorations of their own spirituality & their relationship to Universe, (i.e. God, Source, Creator, Universe, Divine) by helping clients to unpack distortions that have hinder their knowing of their innate worth to bring about healing and wholeness as they would define it.
I believe life is an ever-unfolding path of growth and possibilities and that each of us are invited into a beautiful exploration around learning who we are, what are our gifts, passions and life purposes that can fill out lives with joy and meaning. I work with clients to meet them where they find themselves, the bumps and bruises, the spaces of feeling lost, confused, battered, uncertain or simply worn out and trying to find a way into or back to the road less traveled that can lead to joy
Relationships are filled with so many variables that contribute to confusion, hurt, loneliness, conflict, deep wound but also can bring beauty, depth, wonder and meaningful connection. I believe relationships start first with healing the relationship with ourselves. Places where we lost connection with our beauty, value and sense of Self-Love and positive self-regard / self-esteem. I work with clients to help them explore themselves and understanding within their relationships.
If you are someone who finds yourself wanting to unpack experiences you have had within your religious upbringing, even wounds in your religious experiences; find yourself wanting to engage with a Higher Source of your understanding but old religious tapes get in your way; Or if you have always been a Spiritual person but are struggling to integrate your spirituality with the craziness and drama of life, this therapy space can be a supportive place to explore.
Family Systems is a therapy approach that recognizes generational influences of family functioning on the individual's current behaviors & patterns, such as the management of anxiety or anger, and helps clients to see how their current problems may be rooted in previous generational patterns of relating that they experienced in their family of origin. This approach helps the client recognize, unpack and change any unhealthy patterns that are contributing to current difficulties.
Interpersonal Therapy is a unique approach to individual therapy, which integrates an individual's relational experiences, their thoughts about themselves, and their past familial experiences, to bring about an awareness of how these three domains impact a person's present circumstances.
A Person-Centered Therapy approach recognizes and trusts human potential for growth, providing clients with empathy and unconditional positive regard to help facilitate change. The therapist seeks to avoid directing the course of therapy by following the client's lead whenever possible. Instead, the therapist offers support, guidance, and structure so that the client can discover personalized insights and solutions within themselves to guide their individual life journey.
Transpersonal Therapy, unlike most forms of psychotherapy that concentrate on improving mental health, takes a more holistic approach, addressing mental, physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual needs, with an emphasis on the role of a healthy spirit in healing. Those who are open to exploring their spiritual side, becoming more spiritually aware, or finding a spiritual path or who are having trouble finding meaning in their lives may benefit from this approach.
