About My Clients
I work with people who are eager for change and willing to take necessary risks in therapy to increase self-awareness and sense of well-being. Many of us feel overwhelmed at times as we navigate past traumas, relationships, family, responsibilities, world events, and day-to-day life. Sometimes stressors disrupt our ability to achieve serenity or experience life’s pleasures. Together we can identify and work toward attainable goals that offer you the chance to increase personal satisfaction.
My Background and Approach
For more than two decades I have been assisting others who need relief from emotional and psychic pain. I am interactive and direct in my approach, and utilize evidence-based practices and research in my work. Though I have experienced privileges associated with being a white cisgender woman, I have also experienced traumas and other life events which I overcame only with the support of others both in and outside of the helping professions. Now I am honored to assist others during their challenges. I have been fortunate to work with people from a variety of cultural and personal backgrounds, which has added immeasurable value to my perspectives as a mental health clinician.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am in awe of and inspired by the forces of nature and science. I approach all life with compassion, respect, and a curious mind because the benefits of learning continue only when we remain teachable. I support politics and policies that increase equity and embrace diversity as a benefit to us all as a species. The world needs healing, our communities need healing, and we as individuals need our own healing. Each of us has some power to improve our life experiences and by extension to enhance the lives of those around us if we are willing to work at it. Therapy is a unique growth opportunity that allows us to focus specifically on our goals, needs, wounds, and passions. I believe every human stands to benefit from a therapeutic journey.
