About My Clients
My clients come from every area of life and all are welcome as we explore together how to be more effective as individuals and in relationship to others. Individuals, couples', family counseling, adolescents, and LGBTQ clients are all welcome to come and leave with a plan going forward. I not only have the professional training and credentials, but have lived most through most challenges we face as we travel along the journey called life.
My Background and Approach
Are you facing the last knot in your rope looking up from the bottom... and feeling hopeless and afraid? I know this feeling. Life offers so many opportunities for not only joy, but the opposite, fear and loss. Job losses, relationship losses, the loss of personal health or the health of one you love all leading to a place of how to ever move forward and find contentment and peace again. New information, in addition to learning holistic approaches lead to a return to not only coping but learning that losses are the mother of invention for even better days, months, years ahead. Losses can be life's most positive redefining moments in time when processed successfully. I am married to a wife of 22 years, was married to a man for 26 years prior. We can always learn and grow and find happiness when we learn new ways of relating to ourselves and others in healthy ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My clients have told me they use their "Linda tools" as they learn to use new information, new approaches to conflict within themselves and with others, they report using mindfulness solution based tools to reach more successful ways to manage stress, anxiety, depression and fear. I share many of my own challenges, daughter of divorce, a child with a terrible brain disorder that was terminal, a son who sought solace in drugs for a period of time, loss of my parents and one sister. These all come to us one way or another and can be handled better with a journeymate who has been there before. My clients write to me years after events that we have discussed and clients implemented the strategies gaining strength and contentment in the rest of their lives. Too, they have become better role models for their children, handled parents and extended family better, learned to set proper boundaries in all of their relationships reducing conflict within themselves and with others.
