About My Clients
I am passionate about working with clients who are working through the emotional, psychological, and relational stress that comes from processing their intersecting identities, sense of self, and relational contexts. My specialties are depression, grief, and trauma (e.g., relational abuse or religious abuse) that can come from those complex dynamics. I know therapy is expensive so if you believe we would be a good fit, please feel free to contact me about my sliding scale spots.
My Background and Approach
I identify as an integrative psychotherapist and draw from psychodynamic, relational, experiential-affective, attachment, and humanistic/existential theories. I work primarily from an insight-oriented depth approach, incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, and pay close attention to the body and your cultural contexts. I tailor interventions to the unique needs of each client. I care deeply about the relationship and work between client and therapist and view it as deeply and inherently sacred: hence, I desire feedback (that may, at times, be hard to give) so that it can continue to inform our relationship and work together. I hope to provide a space where the parts of you are seen, known, celebrated, mourned with, held with compassion and respect, and feel safe-enough as we courageously engage with new perspectives, emotions, reflections, interpretations, and interventions to help you feel more integrated, at peace, and at home in your body and social environments.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Because humans develop in the context of relationship, I believe the therapeutic relationship can be an emotionally reparative relationship: as healing can come by working through things within the therapeutic relationship. I believe that what I bring and what you bring—our experiences, and similarities as well as our differences—lay the foundation for therapy and what we will co-create together in this space through mutual vulnerability and creativity. I identify as a Third Culture Kid/Individual. I received my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited Fuller’s School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy program. While completing my PsyD, I obtained two additional Master’s degrees in Intercultural Studies and Theology. I completed my APA-accredited internship and post-doctoral residency at University of Southern California's Counseling and Mental Health.
