I am affiliated with The Association for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling, as well as The Trevor Project. I have more than 50 hours of class training on LGBTQ issues in counseling. I have worked with LGBTQ clients at every stage of the lifespan, from children to older adults. I treat transgender and gender nonconforming clients in adherence to the standards of care set by The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). I also use the Informed Consent for Access to Trans Heath (ICATH) model where appropriate. I have written more than 100 letters for gender affirming medical procedures. I also work with transgender children and adolescents and their families.

Family conflict is one of the most common reasons people enter therapy. Yet, it can be extremely hard to resolve these issues when you have multiple people in a therapy sessions with their own unique feelings, perspectives, and experiences. With my training and experience, I am competent in helping families to resolve conflict, increase communication, and express their feelings in a healthy way.

Who is the expert on your life? You are. Research has shown that just having a safe space to vent and express our true feelings can relieve depression and increase self-esteem. Humanistic therapy is more than just 'talk therapy'-- it is about helping you to discover your genuine thoughts, feelings, and identity. That's why my first priority is to create a trusting relationship between us.

Many people come to therapy because of problems in their relationships with others--such as partners, parents, children, relatives, bosses, classmates, and co-workers. We can't change these people, but we can change how we respond to them. In interpersonal therapy, we explore your relationship patterns, and try out new ways of communicating and expressing your needs.

The family system includes more than just parents and children--our family system is our friends, our extended family, and our community. In family systems therapy, the therapist considers the roles and patterns of the client, in relation to his or her family. Family systems therapy is mostly commonly used with children and teens, since the family has the most influence on these age groups.
