About My Clients
My current clients range from 12-50+ and have a complexity of challenges that we target in session. My goal is to allow clients the space to target what feels appropriate in session, maintain progress towards their over arching goals, and meet them where they are at each week. My approach to therapy ranges from utilizing techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to blending skills to match what the client needs in the moment.
My Background and Approach
I have obtained my Masters of Science from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Mental Health Counseling where I was trained from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lens. Prior to receiving this degree, I attended Temple University and graduated in May 2020 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Religion. Although I do not incorporate religious doctrine into my practice, I find that those classes gave me important perspectives in working with clients from different backgrounds and cultures.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A personal motto that has guided my path through my career has been "Be the change you want to see". When I was younger and struggling to manage my own emotions or open up about what I am feeling, I have found that I had to be different if I wanted my environment to be different. I believe that despite how uncomfortable a situation is, it is easier to do nothing or to let the circumstances take control. It will always be harder and more effort to change your environment, change how you respond to chaos, and redefine relationships with the people closest to you. But I believe that small steps towards change will feel better in the long term (or shorter term) and it is worth the effort because you will be uncomfortable either way.
