About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who hated their last therapy experience, clients who feel defeated by their relationship with food and their body, and clients who are sick of anxiety ruling their life. I aim to support, challenge, and empower you to determine what your goals are and make meaningful progress toward them. I focus on being sensitive to cultural issues and marginalized groups. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I take pride in providing LGBTQ+-affirming care.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Endorsement (LISW-S) in the state of Ohio, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana. As a therapist, I’m committed to ongoing learning and professional growth, regularly seeking out new techniques, tools, and perspectives to support the best possible care for my clients. I’ve received training in a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Polyvagal Theory, among others. My approach is integrative and collaborative—I draw from multiple modalities to create a personalized framework tailored to each client's unique needs, goals, and preferences. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I strive to meet each person where they are, adapting our work to fit your unique experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My interest in mental health developed as an adolescent struggling with a few mental disorders. After several bad experiences in therapy, I had concluded that therapy was just useless. Ironically, I became a therapist – teenage me definitely wouldn’t have seen that one coming. Now, I am passionately dedicated to assisting my clients in making therapy useful for them. Being someone who once very strongly believed therapy was a waste of time, I now hope to help others realize it doesn't have to be. Additionally, I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community and align myself with other social justice movements aimed at equity and inclusion. My goal is to help individuals live a life according to their unique identity, values, and goals.
