I am a culturally responsive clinician who works with teens, adults and couples.

Clinical Psychologist in San Francisco, CA

About My Clients

I love working with clients from diverse cultures and walks of life. As a second-generation Asian American, I understand intimately issues of acculturation, intergenerational conflict and the stigma of mental health care in minority populations.

My Background and Approach

I am a second-generation Chinese-American licensed clinical psychologist. I completed my postdoctoral training at Stanford University, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, and behavioral difficulties with teens, young adults, couples and families. I love helping individuals who are struggling to manage intense emotions like anxiety, anger, shame, depression and loneliness. I also have a passion for helping couples and families overcome interpersonal difficulties like conflict resolution, setting and maintaining boundaries, and expressing and getting relationship needs met. I use an integrative approach grounded in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am intentional about being culturally sensitive, and have had the privilege to work in settings as diverse as juvenile detentions, university counseling centers, and hospitals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all doing the best that we can. I take great care to provide a nonjudgmental, supportive safe space to explore your unique struggles. My therapeutic style emphasizes compassion and collaboration while being direct and action-focused. Through this work, you can gain lifelong tools to manage distress and create a life you love.
