About My Clients
I work with adults of all ages presenting with a variety of concerns, including challenging relationships with families of origin, difficulties with understanding and expressing emotions, first gen and immigrant experiences, race-based stress, ADHD, concerns with physical health, and mood disorders. I also believe in the value of a strong, therapeutic relationship and client’s being the experts of their own lives and experiences.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrative approach to treatment, encompassing evidence-based, multiculturally informed methods, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness based interventions. I strive to create a space that fosters openness and authenticity by offering empathy, nonjudgment and compassion. I've worked in various healthcare settings for over 15 years. I've accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in navigating complex systems and mental health concerns, while gaining a deep appreciation for the relationship between physical and mental health. I've worked in primary care, intensive outpatient treatment, inpatient settings, nursing homes, and private practice. In addition to my therapy work, I've extensive training and experience in providing psychological assessments. A driving force throughout my training and career has been in maintaining a social justice framework.
