About My Clients
My clients are those dealing with relationship issues, life transitions, ADHD, Bipolar, depression, anxiety and couples. As someone who has been sober for over 14 years, I particularly enjoy working with Substance Use Disorder (both active and in recovery) as well as those who are affected by a family member who suffers. My clients enjoy the fact that they don't have to waste time trying to "explain their sobriety" and we can instead spend our time discussing the real issues.
My Background and Approach
How do I know that change is possible? Because I have lived my own journey with anxiety, depression, an eating disorder and addiction. With over 14 years of continuous sobriety I know that finding calm and ease is available to anyone, with just a little time and work. My approach is rooted in mindfulness-based, trauma-informed practices (pulling from ACT, DBT, MI, Relational and Narrative Therapy) helping you slow down, tune in, and start making choices that align with your values—not your fears. I am also trained in EMDR. I received my Masters of Social Work from Tulane University, and having passed the ASWB exam, am now a LMSW. I am also a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone can benefit from therapy and that everyone deserves to be happy and feel good about themselves.
