Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to impact their daily lives. When overwhelming events occur, the brain may not fully process them, leaving memories “stuck” and easily triggered by reminders in the present. These unprocessed memories can contribute to anxiety, emotional reactivity, negative self-beliefs, and a sense of being stuck.
