About My Clients
If you’re struggling with keeping it together and feel like you don’t have much more to give, if it’s been months since you felt like yourself, if you keep promising yourself to make a change but then feel overwhelmed or don’t know where to start, I can help make your life a brighter place. When we’re struggling, we feel alone yet hesitate to seek support from others because of shame or not wanting to burden others with our “problems.” I will help you see that you deserve better.
My Background and Approach
I have been a therapist for over 10 years and have worked with adults, children, and families in both outpatient and intensive services. My experience has confirmed the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance. I will provide a safe, accepting space for you to share your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. I use a mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral approach. EMDR can also be very helpful when trauma is involved or when clients are feeling stuck and can’t seem to make the changes they’ve been wanting. I will work alongside you in a collaborative approach as I am not the expert in your life, you are. We’ll identify your inner strengths and build on your resiliency. My plan is that you will begin to feel more hopeful, confident, and optimistic, and do so quickly.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it's important for me to share a bit about myself to my clients. It helps clients see me as a person that has also experienced setbacks, anxiety, and felt overwhelmed at times. Clients are better able to connect with me, knowing that I've been in their shoes and have experienced challenges, even if not the same ones.
