I incorporate relationship counseling into therapy because our relationships are one of the strongest influences on our emotional well-being, identity, and daily functioning. Many individual concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, stress, or self-esteem — are shaped and maintained within relational systems. Exploring patterns in communication, attachment, boundaries, and conflict allows clients to understand not just what they are feeling, but why those patterns keep repeating.

I integrate trauma therapy into addiction treatment because substance use is often intertwined with unresolved traumatic experiences and difficulties with emotional regulation. The Affect Regulation Trauma Protocol (ARP) allows me to help clients build safety and stabilization before processing traumatic material, strengthening their capacity to tolerate distress without turning to substances.

I do addictions counseling because I believe recovery is possible, and I bring both professional training and lived experience to that work. Being in recovery myself allows me to approach clients with deep empathy, respect, and understanding of how complex addiction can be. I know firsthand that substance use is often tied to pain, trauma, and attempts to cope, not weakness or lack of character.

I treat depression because it can quietly erode a person’s sense of hope, identity, and connection, yet it is also highly treatable with the right support. Many people experiencing depression carry invisible burdens — grief, trauma, stress, or unmet needs — and therapy offers a space to slow down and understand those experiences with compassion.

I work with PTSD because trauma can fundamentally change how a person experiences safety, trust, and connection, often long after the event has passed. Many clients feel trapped in survival responses that were once protective but now interfere with daily life, relationships, and self-worth. Therapy provides a structured and compassionate space to process trauma at a pace that respects each client’s nervous system and readiness. My goal is to help clients reduce the intensity of traumatic stress,

I treat addiction because it is a deeply human response to pain, stress, and unmet emotional needs, not a moral failing. Substance use often develops as a survival strategy, and with support, those same survival instincts can be redirected toward healing and growth. My work focuses on helping clients understand the function addiction has served in their lives, while building healthier ways to regulate emotions, manage triggers, and reconnect with their values.
