About My Clients
When anxiety, worry, and feeling stuck becomes the norm, it makes living a happy, fruitful life seem out of reach. These emotional landscapes are difficult to explore alone and often come from old narratives that won't stop playing out. Through Brainspotting, Narrative and Mindfulness-Based therapy, I offer practical solutions for creating change. I am influenced by neuroscience, Eastern Spirituality and offer a compassionate, accepting presence.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, inquisitive, and client-informed and grounded in methods shown to be effective in creating relief. I have extensive training in Mindfulness-based therapy and have taught many of my clients to meditate and have an ongoing mindfulness practice. Those who experience anxiety and worry often benefit greatly from this modality. In addition, I utilize Narrative therapy to help clients identify patterns with compassion while creating accountability for change. How we tell the story in our mind impacts how our life unfolds and learning how to change the story can lead to meaningful changes. Lastly, I also provide Brainspotting to help address issues that traditional talk therapy may not access in the same way. Brainspotting is a method that uses spots in a person's visual field to help process traumatic or challenging experiences. It emerged out of EMDR therapy and has been shown to be effective, even in virtual settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some of the qualities that I value as a therapist are authenticity, curiosity and a compassionate approach to client challenges. Having personally benefited from meditation and mindfulness, I know the value it brings. I have a personal interest in Eastern Spirituality, have undergone yoga teacher training, and have been practicing Reiki for over 20 years. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and have had the privilege of working with this community throughout my years as a therapist.
