About My Clients
I fit best with clients who are curious about themselves, they want to understand themselves, but maybe they have gotten stuck or hit a wall in their journey. They are ready to look at themselves in new ways and are open to new perspectives. They want to know themselves as best they can. They are brave enough to want freedom, choice, autonomy, even agency in their lives, but do not know how to get it. Is this you, is this what you want?
My Background and Approach
I studied philosophy before I studied psychology. So, my approach is very socratic. The way I approach therapy is as an interviewer, where you are my subject and also the audience. Instead of trying to uncover some hidden truth for the public, my job, as interviewer, is to uncover hidden truths about you, solely for your own use. Like a good journalist, I will try to be as objective as possible. Not only will I dig up this new information about you, I’ll put it into context and help you see the subject in a new way, in this case, you. What you do with this new informative perspective about yourself is up to you. Sometimes you may learn that you like that part of yourself and don't want to change it after all. Some things you may discover you can't change, and I will help you accept those. What you can/want to change will take time, practice, and patients, but it can be done. I'll help you find and refine what works for you to change yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Your resistance to what is, is the cause of your suffering. -Morihei Ueshiba The only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing. -Socrates I cannot teach anyone anything, I can only make them think. -Socrates Take what works, leave the rest. -Bruce Lee If you see failure as weakness, you will become weaker. If you see failure as opportunity, it can make you stronger. Nothing can't hurt you, for it is nothing, and an empty bucket gives the opportunity to fill it. Therefore, don't be afraid of feeling empty, for there is freedom in it.
