About My Clients
I seek to create a safe and supportive place where you can openly process difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. When you work with me in therapy, I will assist you in finding the tools needed to live your life more effectively. I know the challenges you may be facing right now can feel really overwhelming and I am here to sit with you in your pain and to help you make positive changes in your life, in part by accessing the wisdom and strength you already hold within.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from CSU, Sacramento in 2010 and my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University in 2013. Since 2011, I have worked with individuals and families in a variety of settings, including community counseling clinics, residential treatment, private practice, and school-based mental health programs. I also have several years of experience facilitating groups for children, teens, parents, and adults. In more recent years, I have been practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help individuals gain and apply the skills needed to live and cope more effectively in their daily lives. I have found this modality to be very empowering for many individuals, though I am open to finding and using the approach that will work best for you (i.e. strength-based, solution focused, etc.).
