After giving birth to my first child, I became very passionate about this topic and got involved as much as I could. I trained with many pioneers in the field with Postpartum International, 2020Mom, and The Postpartum Stress Center. I continue to do my trainings to gain continuous knowledge of helping individuals from all aspect of motherhood, from the struggles of conceiving, to pregnancy, to the birth and beyond. It is important for me to make every birthing person feel less alone.

Working with individuals with depression and having them see that they can feel joy is one of the main reasons that I feel in love with being a therapist. Depression can make anyone feel alone and it can have physical symptoms that go along with it. I have and will continue to train in modalities such as Behavioral Activation, CBT, and self-compassion.

Anxiety can be one of the hardest challenges that we can live with daily. It keeps us from doing what we love to do. When we try to push it away, it just comes back even more and then we get even more frustrated with ourselves. The idea is to find tools to help manage the anxiety. I have been and continue to be involved in extensive trainings to help clients challenge their anxious thoughts and recognize that their anxious thoughts may feel real but they are just perception.

Psychodynamic Therapy is one of my favorite treatments to work with. I have become certified in Psychodynamic Therapy. I love this modality because it helps the client understand why they are the way they are. It helps provide insight and a deeper look into their defenses. Once they get a better understanding, thats when they can start the work.

I have worked in a PHP/IOP program that used DBT as one of their main treatments. I love this treatment because it helps provide the client skills in mindfulness skills, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and relationships with other and within themselves. I have gone through many hours of DBT trainings and ran DBT skills groups to individuals who are struggling with mood disorders and anxiety disorders.

CBT was one of the main treatments that I started using as a therapist and a main focus for many of the populations that I have worked with. I have attended certificate programs in CBT and will continue to educate myself.
