About My Clients
I work with adults who experience depression, anxiety, body issues, pain, trauma, relationship issues, traumatic brain injury, and other issues. I also serve clients interested in self-exploration and growth, especially connecting with creativity, spirituality, and embodiment. I have served Veterans and civilians, individuals with communication challenges, and people at end of life. My current focus is working with people who want to explore creative approaches to therapy.
My Background and Approach
I am trained as a music therapist and mental health counselor. I work from a humanistic perspective, following the client's lead on what's important and I believe we all have the capacity to grow and reach our fullest potential. I also believe in the creative spark within each person. I practice from a psychoanalytic perspective as well, believing that our unconscious mind is worth exploring and that our early relationships play a large role in how we relate in our current lives. By examining these factors we can have agency to choose how we relate and act in the world. I also work transpersonally, encouraging people to find ways that they connect to larger existential issues which hold meaning including spirituality, connection, and a sense of self beyond the limited ego. Lastly, I work from a feminist lens by examining systems of power which limit and oppress marginalized groups and help my clients to unpack limiting societal beliefs and become better self advocates.
