About My Clients
Trauma is unfortunately common, but it can leave those who experience it feeling alone. I have always held a deep passion for supporting survivors of trauma, and I have years of experience in working with survivors of abuse, LGBTQ+ folks, and individuals with eating disorders. My practice is entirely virtual, so I can accept clients across the state of Ohio. The aftermath of trauma can be scary, but you are not alone. I look forward to being part of your healing journey.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the anti-violence field since 2015. My experience includes working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse. I started my career in the field of LGBTQ+ affirming health care and expanded to working with victims of crime, specializing in a feminist approach to therapy. This approach explores the layers of systemic oppression and societal harms that exacerbate traumatic-stress responses and alienates and blames survivors. I believe survivors, and I believe you. My practice philosophy centers on the client experience and caters to the ways that trauma affects individuals. I am a trained-EMDR therapist and independently licensed social worker in the state of Ohio. My most authentic learning and expertise has come from what survivors have taught me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we find healing in community, and that everyone is the expert of their own lives. As a therapist, I believe that we are partners and collaborators on your healing journey, and that you ultimately lead the path forward. Healing happens in relationship with others, so I take a relational approach to our sessions. As a survivor, I also personally understand the toll of trauma on my own mental health and relationships. I have experienced first-hand the post-traumatic growth that can come from talking to a therapist and seeking help.
