My Background and Approach
I have been working in the community for the past 6 years developing my therapeutic approach. I work mainly from an ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) approach. However, I also use cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing and I always encourage a regular mindfulness practice and values-based living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert in you. I aim to help you increase your awareness of your strengths and values. I also believe that while anxiety and depression can be debilitating, they are often signals that something in our life needs to change. I do this work because one of my most important values in life is reducing the suffering of others. I also value connecting with people of all backgrounds, and I treasure working with diverse populations. I provide a warm, non-judgmental place for you to be yourself.
