About My Clients
What is it about anxiety that causes so much distress? Or perhaps it's depression that is causing you trouble? Maybe you're struggling with an eating disorder or your own gender identity? I know how it feels to have that firey rock in the pit of your belly. It can be frightening and downright frustrating! Everyone has a right to be heard and feel comfortable within their own space. I consider each client to be the expert in their own growth. Sometimes, you just need a little guidance.
My Background and Approach
I'm an LGBTQIA affirming therapist that has experience within the community and knowledge of the culture. I am fluent in American Sign Language and have knowledge of the culture, as well. My specialties include working with adults of all ages (including couples), anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and PSTD. I am trained in EMDR Therapy, which is a powerful modality to treat anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and traumatic events with unique clients. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should have access to good mental health services. We are all human beings who are living our own experiences and creating our own stories. Sometimes, when we're growing up, we learn unhealthy ways to cope with stressors, change, and trauma. I have learned through my own therapy experiences that there are better, easier, ways to cope with the symptoms of PTSD. Therapy has helped me realize that I am worthy of healing. I'm a self-proclaimed book and theater nerd. I love all things Harry Potter and I'm a Disney freak. I am an advocate for human rights in all areas including the LGBT community, Black Lives Matter, and safety in schools. If you'd like to learn more about how I can help, send me a message.
