About My Clients
Clients often come to me for support in relieving symptoms associated with trauma, attachment injuries, interpersonal problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and low self-esteem. Right now you might feel stuck, directionless, without the skills you need to succeed, or find yourself in unhelpful patterns. Perhaps you've experienced a crushing loss. You're here because you desire to experience that you are strong, capable and worthy - to overcome, move forward, and be resilient.
My Background and Approach
I have experience supporting teens, young adults and adults struggling with relationship challenges, stress, grief, depression, anxiety, and trauma, and more recently, students and their families in the public education system. I have experience working in wilderness therapy and community mental health settings. I work from an attachment and trauma-responsive lens. I am trained in Brainspotting, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and am a Certified Grief-Informed Professional. It is my privilege to come alongside clients as they explore, identify, and work to resolve the root of their challenges, and as they develop skills for relief and resilience. I am passionate about walking with clients as they author new narratives about themselves and their experiences, and in helping clients discover meaning and purpose for their pain. I take an eclectic approach to counseling, incorporating Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT skills, Somatic Therapy, Experiential Therapy techniques, and Brainspotting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that when we live in misalignment with our core values, stress, guilt, shame, and unhappiness arise. At the same time, we are inherently relational creatures; we are often impacted by others' actions with regards to their own values and shame. Life can be messy, hard, painful. Let's take action to affect change where we can and grieve what we cannot.
