My goal is to support individuals who are seeking to show up authentically in all parts of their lives. I strive to foster a collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and receive support through a culturally sensitive lens that recognizes their unique intersecting identities. My Background and Approach
I use evidence-based techniques to empower clients to regain direction in their lives and clarity of their full potential. During sessions, I may pull from various therapeutic techniques informed by different theoretical models. The therapy model that most strongly relates to my therapeutic style is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This model is similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in that it challenges the negative beliefs and patterns one holds and works to replace them with more productive thoughts and behaviors. The key difference is that DBT incorporates elements of acceptance and tolerance to address challenges that are beyond our control.
