About My Clients

In our current climate, It is easy to find yourself in ‘survival mode’. Perhaps you are a young adult, a parent, or a woman amidst transitions or change in need of support. Leah uses creative and compassionate forms of inquiry around the ‘ups and downs’. Life challenges and changes can evoke ‘difficult’ feelings- leave you questioning your support structure, your own childhood experience, and coping through it all. Positive change takes time and you don’t have to do it alone. Help is here.

My Background and Approach

Trained in Dr. Kristin Neff's self-compassion institute, Leah enjoys integrating new coping strategies, mindfulness perspectives/exercises as clients develop new 'neural pathways' around kindness/growth. We develop awareness of 'old/programmed thinking' from the past. Beliefs can inform your view on self, the world, relationships. Leah has also received intensive ACT training (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which utilizes creativity, curiosity and mental flexibility to develop fresh/healthy perspectives around life's transitions and challenges. Leah is also IFS informed (Internal Family Systems) which allows us to understand our survival 'parts of self' that develop out of those safety/attachment needs when life is funky, we adapt to survive. To reset and thrive, we can become aware, observe, and develop the art of holding 'shameful or negatively labeled emotions/parts'. I hope to create authentic space to heal in curiosity; cultivating lasting, kind and value laden daily living.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the power of healing through safe, consistent spaces. Learning to celebrate your inherent goodness and find people and places to be accepted as you are is important. The external messages within culture/technology often flood our inboxes, and media presents information that may at times be unrealistic with a focus on others and striving to meet standards. We need to create time away from the noise to slow, be present, and reflect personally. In all of the fear, comparisons, challenging relationships we can live a life unaligned at times with our core needs and values. I too experienced a difficult season of adjustment as an emerging adult and decided to make a career change which I believed was 'set in stone.' I needed space to process all of my complex beliefs/grieve what I held onto tightly. With the right support, we can all learn to thrive. I believe in the power of community and daily self tending to heal and live well.
