About My Clients
Do you want to feel confident in yourself & your relationship with loved ones? Maybe you're a self identified perfectionist or people pleaser, struggle to say no or express your feelings. You feel responsible for others, so you avoid conflict, put others first, & are stuck in a vicious cycle of bottling your emotions only to explode later. Only so much can be swept under the rug before it seeps out in other ways: Often anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
I have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Sex Therapy. As a Licensed MFT, I see each person as a piece of their system. I see clients individually or for couples therapy. I am trained in EMDR and have been working as a trauma and relationship therapist for the past several years. I have a deep understanding of trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault, the impact they have on our brains and bodies, and how to build and utilize tools to manage the impacts of trauma. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with relationship issues and want to process how past dynamics impact their present relationships, so they are looking for a therapist who can understand family dynamics and also be human.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the “symptoms” we experience as adults are the ways we survived as a child. I view problems through a systemic lens, meaning that the system in which you were raised and current relationships have a role in creating and maintaining problems. This is why I find it so important to reflect on the past in order to process it and work towards a better future.
