About My Clients
I enjoy working with a variety of issues and clients and specialize in addictions & recovery, codependency/relationship/Intimacy/attachment issues and developmental trauma. I work with money issues frequently and help clients have a healthy relationship to money and increase their financial independence. I help entrepreneurial clients with their unique struggles to achieve their goals. I work with outside pressure from families, community, society, and oppressive forces that impact people daily.
My Background and Approach
I have a bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work and have had significant training in Human Sexuality, Hakomi, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing. I help people in relation to their environment, their biology and their particular patterns of adaptation from growing up in their unique families, communities and culture. I assist clients in taking their end goals and breaking them down into achievable chunks they gain succeed in achieving and gain confidence & momentum while doing so. I focus a lot on helping people accurately assess their arousal (stress) level and to be able to be versatile in self regulating in a variety of situations they encounter. For traumas I can help clients resolve them in a variety of ways including desensitization, mindfulness, parts work and using clearing tools like EMDR. I am always learning and growing as a therapist and incorporate all I can into working with people in a down to earth personable, and collaborative approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a strong interest in the overzealous social control factors in society including a long study of the excessive use of force by police, overzealous therapists who over report based on a liability focused stance on mandated reporting, excessive use of psychiatric medications as a primary treatment focus and on treating clients as treatment resistant due to the failure of their own treatment modalities. I also like to help people learn to have a healthy relationship to money, time and their own life energy as valuable resources they can learn to regulate to their best benefit and achieve a more satisfying life.
