About My Clients
Are you new to exploring your roots, ancestral practices or are noticing an opening up in these areas, and would like a safe and non-invasive place to explore and engage in practices that are supportive to your healing journey? Have you felt a sense of disconnection and longing to connect and reclaim your own sense of intuition and indigenous practices? There is a reason you may be feeling a pull towards discovering these parts of yourself, and I look forward to supporting you as you reconnect.
My Background and Approach
I employ intergenerational exploration and ancestral work as a psychotherapeutic tool for self discovery and self celebration. I understand the desire to connect with one’s ancestry, even when there isn’t a clear path, and I invite you to embrace the unknown as you embark on this journey, allowing intuition to be the guide to what feels right. I emphasize the significance of re-indigenizing during the healing journey, reclaiming the practices and healing modalities that have served your ancestors. My work in therapy is to help people understand who they are and how to exist as they are in this world that seeks to take that away from us, especially as BIPOC, queer, two-spirit, and trans folx. I wholeheartedly believe that you have all of the resources and wisdom within you, and part of the work is unlearning and detaching from narratives that tell you otherwise. Your symptoms tell a story. Together we will listen and collaborate on what is needed to become your most authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in our human capacity to come home to ourselves. There are many reasons we may get disconnected from the truth of who we are, whether that be due to trauma (intergenerational, acute, relational), systems of oppression, or economic systems that keep us occupied with everything but ourselves. Whatever the reason, we all deserve the freedom and joy in living in our authenticity and finding peace within ourselves. Growing up, I struggled with my identity and sense of belonging. I didn't have access to my roots or family to impart the wisdom of our ancestors, but I felt this pull towards knowing who and where I came from. Eventually I started seeing the truth of who I am, and reclaiming my sensitivity as an ancestral gift. It has been a long and at times challenging process, as sometimes I forget and have to work at remembering. It's a lifelong journey of becoming, and leaning into the process. You don't have to do it alone, we are meant to do this work with each other.
