About My Clients
My clients are often trans, queer, polyamorous, kink positive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-colonial, sex-positive, pro-disability justice, fat positive, polyam-friendly, and interested Health at Every Size™ approaches.
My Background and Approach
I primarily utilize a somatic approach (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy), which is utilizing the body to access and resolve trauma. Our mind and body are deeply connected (think headaches from stress, etc) and I believe tuning into the body to heal can have a profound effect. I believe the body is not just our individual body but our collective, ancestral bodies. I believe our kin and family are not only human but non-human species such as plants, animals, spirits, etc. I welcome these aspects into our work together. In our work together, you will be supported in shared decision-making, choice, agency, and empowerment to determine your own unique path of healing. I view our relationship as non-hierarchical - I am not the expert on you. I provide the tools, you bring yourself, and together we create transformation. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Personally, I believe that the institution of therapy can be used oppressively and that much of what we are taught in therapeutic practice is inherently white supremacist. To be frank, the only reason I am working towards licensure is so that I can help queer and trans folks find the healing and wholeness they so strongly deserve. I am firmly committed to deconstruction of oppressive systems both individually and collectively, and firmly committed to accessibility with my work.
