I am passionate about helping people feel listened to and understood in their personal context. My approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative; I use techniques from DBT, ACT, CBT, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy to tailor my approach to each person's needs, strengths, and way of learning. Together we will discuss goals for therapy and work collaboratively to achieve them in the way that works best for you.
Our work together will help you understand the ways your experiences, past and present, have shaped the way you think about things and engage with the world; we can also understand how your identity affects the way the world interacts with you. With this understanding, we can also work on changing patterns and behaviors that no longer suit you and develop healthy ways of coping with challenges.
Therapy is kind of like a good massage. Sometimes you have knots to work out and it can be painful and take a lot of time, but by doing that work, you can heal.
