About My Clients

Are you a creative person who can't quite meet your goals due to procrastination or perfectionism? Do you want to feel more free in your work or your relationships? Do you feel anxious or depressed and you want to obsess less and laugh more? We will think together to figure out how you got here, and how you will transcend. We will talk, we may improvise, or role play. We have many options and your needs and desires will always be taken seriously to help you address what is blocking you.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and received my Master's Degree from New York University in drama therapy. I completed post-graduate psychotherapy training at the Institute for Developmental Transformations, where I also served as Associate Training Director for 3 years. I worked at the School of Visual Arts as a psychotherapist in the college-counseling center with creative students and for over 9 years worked at Bellevue Hospital Center in the department of psychiatry. I utilize an empirically supported and embodied creative approach to psychotherapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Psychotherapy is an interpersonal collaboration of art and science. It is a thrilling process that is sometimes challenging, occasionally frustrating (which is usually a sign that change is coming!), and often delightful. Being in the theatre as a young person, I learned early on to put myself in another's shoes. I believe we should all be free to love who we love, to identify in whatever way feels most natural to us, and I am honored to hold space for anyone who is questioning what is "right" for them. I am fortunate to have worked with individuals from many continents. I strive to be aware of the power and privilege I may have both in my personal life and in the therapy space, when perhaps English is the second language. I invite dialogue and play for exploring issues of cultural identity, race, class, and abuse of power for women, minority groups, and men.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity
