About My Clients
Please reach out to me if you're hoping to regain a sense of control and light in your life and would like support navigating traumatic stress, low-self esteem, or coping with uncomfortable emotions. I can support you in processing emotions and exploring how attachment style impacts how you relate to the world.
My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in compassion and humanism. I received my Masters of arts from Lewis and Clark College, where I specialized in sex therapy. Since graduating I have received additional post grad training in relational life therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and an introductory workshop in Hakomi (a somatic based therapeutic modality).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that when it comes to big emotions and challenges, sometimes the only way out is through. Through my own therapy, I learned how to identify and lean into the physical sensations of my body that related to my emotional experiences. The results inspired me, as I realized how disconnected my mind/body/spirit were. Through that experience, I felt more attuned to myself, my life and relationships. I'm humbled and inspired by clients who hold the courage to explore this mind/body connection within themselves. In this model we invite ourselves to shed away some of what we learned about avoiding and minimizing our feelings to fully embrace our humanity. It's kind of funny how when we embrace these sensations, they somehow have less power over us.
