About My Clients
My specialty area is clinical health psychology, and I practice with science-supported strategies to help people with the following concerns: 1) anxiety and/or depression, 2) body image and/or disordered eating, and 3) health behavior problems and/or difficulty adjusting to illness/injury.
My Background and Approach
I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and positive psychology interventions. I conduct teletherapy using HIPAA-compliant Zoom. Teletherapy has been found to be comparably effective to in-person therapy. It also offers greater flexibility, accessibility, and privacy. I serve individuals in North Carolina or any of the approved PSYPACT states: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to serving as a clinician, I am an Associate Professor at Davidson College. I teach classes on psychological topics and conduct research on resiliency and health, body image and disordered eating, and adjustment to illness/injury. I aim to be an inclusive, open-minded, and non-judgmental clinician. I have received extensive training in cultural competency and inclusive therapy strategies. Furthermore, I am on several committees that promote justice, equality, and community. All are welcome!
