About My Clients
Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a North Carolina native who is originally from Fayetteville, but now call Laurinburg home. I specialize in working with adults with a history of experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, spiritual abuse, and grief.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Andrew’s University in 2021, and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2024. I am passionate about working with adults who have a history of trauma, especially first responders. As a former first responder myself, I bring firsthand experience and insight into my practice. Whether you are a firefighter, paramedic, law enforcement officer, or another first responder, I understand the nuances of your profession and am committed to supporting you through the challenges you face both on and off the job. I also specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety and depression, particularly those navigating spiritual abuse and spiritual deconstruction. Additionally, I work with adults who have experienced grief and loss. I want my clients to know that there is no right or wrong way to experience grief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, seen, and accepted. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am passionate about offering inclusive, affirming care. I also have over six years of experience working with people in crisis and emergency situations, and I deeply believe in the resilience people carry even in their hardest moments. I’m comfortable sitting with pain, fear, grief, and uncertainty — and I see healing not as “fixing” you, but helping you reconnect with your own strength and hope. I also believe in the power of connection — with ourselves, with others, and even with animals, who remind us daily of unconditional love and presence. Wherever you are in your journey, you are worthy of healing, growth, and support.
