Somatic Trauma Therapy: Healing Complex PTSD through Body-Mind Connection

Psychotherapist in Boulder, CO

About My Clients

Chest tight, heart-pounding, emotion surging… sometimes even the smallest thing can set you off. These emotions burst out of nowhere, derailing whatever plans you had for the day (or week!) and drumming up a LOT of drama in your relationships. You're exhausted from having to do ‘damage control’ after these outbursts. You want to be close with your friends, your partner, but closeness is terrifying and you’d rather just run. Managing this by just shoving everything down isn’t working anymore.

How I Can Help You

It’s time to try something different. If you’re fresh out of ideas, I can help! Unresolved trauma can cause overwhelm and disruption, but a painful past does not have to mean a painful future. Somatic therapy offers a way to find safety and wholeness in your body, rebuild your capacity to trust others, have more balance in your emotions, and create a life that feels GOOD. It may seem like your mind and body are working against you, but you are not broken! Together, we can apply proven therapeutic methods that will give you a new sense of ease and comfort in your daily life. We’ll start by coming back to your body and practicing tools to ground and soothe your nervous system. Then, we’ll build new, resilient body patterns that help you relate to yourself and your loved ones in healthy ways. This isn’t a quick fix or a band aid. This is an invitation to come home to yourself, deepen your embodiment, and reorganize your life around joy instead of fear or shame.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I’m a queer, neurodivergent somatic and dance therapist on a mission to help people feel good in their bodies. People tend to describe me as both fiery and grounded. I love people, weird art, and loud music. In my practice, I help queer, neurodivergent women/fems with Complex PTSD reconnect with their bodies and authentic selves after experiencing abuse or trauma in their childhood or romantic relationships. My approach is anti-oppressive, including awareness of your identities, social context, and the impact of systemic/collective trauma on your experiences. My guidance is gentle, collaborative, and highly customized for each person I work with. I wholeheartedly believe that the key to changing the world for the better starts with the personal journey, and that our deepest personal journey is reconnecting with our body’s authentic rhythms and movements. Movement and embodiment have been integral to my own process of healing and growth, and I know it can be for you too.
