I believe in fostering acceptance of difficult emotions and thoughts while guiding clients towards actions that align with their values. Through mindfulness practices, I help clients observe their depressive thoughts and emotions without judgment, allowing them to develop a healthier relationship with their inner experiences. By emphasizing the importance of taking committed actions towards personal values, I support clients in creating meaningful change despite the presence of depression.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you build a more meaningful life by teaching you how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings. Instead of trying to get rid of anxiety, self-doubt, or pain, ACT helps you make space for them while choosing actions that align with your values. At Rooted Therapy Houston, we use ACT to support you in getting unstuck--not by changing who you are, but by helping you move toward the life you want with greater clarity and compassion.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapy approach based on the idea that we all have different "parts" within us--like an inner critic, a people-pleaser, or a protective part that shuts down in stress. These parts aren't flaws; they're trying to help us in their own ways. IFS helps you get to know these parts with curiosity, so they can work together more harmoniously. At Rooted Therapy Houston, we use IFS to support deeper healing by helping you reconnect with your calm, wise center.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach that helps the brain process and heal from past distressing experiences. When something overwhelming happens, it can get "stuck," showing up later as anxiety, flashbacks, or negative beliefs about yourself. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like guided eye movements) to help your brain reprocess the memories so that they no longer feel as distressing.
