Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. During an EMDR therapy session, we will work to desensitizes and reintegrate traumatic or triggering experiences in brief doses with bilateral dual stimulation. EMDR is an evidence-based practice proven to resolve PTSD and symptoms related to trauma exposure. EMDR provides relief and skills for overcoming trauma and the impact of future stressful events.

I utilize CBT as a foundation for understanding common cognitive distortion and generating behaviors and ideas we want present in our life. Through CBT, we will examine your thoughts, ideas, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors about yourself, those around you, and your world. CBT helps to bring awareness and actionable steps to challenging and replacing problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with desirable and realistic beliefs and attitudes that embody your best self and life.

As a therapist and yoga teacher, I utilize the breath, movement, and psychotherapy to address my client's concerns. I use a somatic therapy approach, a holistic therapy that studies the mind-body connection regarding the psychological past. I utilize this theory to understand and treat past traumas that are disrupting, both physically and mentally. Somatic therapy will help you better understand the mind-body connection, address somatic responses, and respond to mental and physical sensations.

I have focused my work on trauma and PTSD for the past seven years. I have worked with first responders, military professionals, Veterans, Peace Corps Volunteers, crime victims, and those affected by natural disasters. I believe that we can move through our trauma, becoming stronger, resilient, and empowered individuals. I utilize EMDR, exposure therapy, and an authentic relationship to address PTSD and client symptoms. Together we can develop tools and strategies to begin healing today.

I have worked whit LGBTQ++ clients to resolve issues and concerns within their daily life and as a response to traumatic events. It is no surprise that LGBTQ++ faces unique challenges and fears in our world. I am experienced in responding to these challenges while also considering the systemic and oppressive structures of our society. I specialize in LGBTQ++ counseling after experiencing a crime, discrimination, or prejudices.

Anxiety is a normal part of life, but when it consumes our daily lives, it can be disruptive, debilitating, and distracting. I work to help you understand your anxiety ques and work with you to manage and respond to your anxiety and triggers productively and deliberately. I can help manage anxiety along with the symptoms of shame, fear, and panic that many people face on a daily basis.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, cope healthily with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others. I utilize DBT support clients looking to self regulate, improve relationships and boundaries, and access the present moment.
