My Background and Approach
Dr. Lauren brings a rich clinical background shaped by her experience in hospitals, community clinics, and integrated medical settings. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center, where she specialized in psycho-oncology and primary care psychology, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address the emotional impact of medical illness. Her career has also spanned correctional, residential, and outpatient environments, where she treated individuals coping with trauma, addiction, chronic illness, and serious mental health concerns. Dr. Lauren’s therapeutic approach is a mix of psychodynamic and evidence-based practice and guided by compassion, collaboration, and respect for each client’s story. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral (CBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), dialectical behavior (DBT), and mindfulness-based methods, she tailors each session to meet her clients where they are. Her style is warm, transparent, and empowering.
